The MediaSpace Web site is a work in progress, with components being added at various intervals for beta testing. If you are an educator and want to join the beta testing force, contact project director Brian Martin Murphy at bmm@mediaed.org MEF is currently seeking funds to launch MediaSpace as a multimedia research and education program developing tools to help people learn and teach about the structures and effects of the commercial media system and to explore alternative approaches. The Program will highlight four thematic approaches, realized in four linked web page environments: Concentration of Media Ownership Commercialization of Public Space Colonization of Public Space Alternative Media and Visions MediaSpace will build its database and educational tools mainly on the Web, and will integrate that material with video and print materials to develop teaching packages for the four thematic approaches to global media and public space. |
