Katharine of Lancaster and popular piety in Castile
From the beginning of her stay in Castile, Katharine of Lancaster was obliged to take sides as to religious confession, since she had to give away the official position of England in the Great Schism, to conform to Castilian religious policies. From her place in court, she supported popes, founded churches and contributed to the spread of the cult to Saint Catherine in the realm. All this activity will be analyzed as part of her impact in Castilian society.
