The linseed trade from Northern Europe to Brittany
During the 18 th century, the textile industry of Brittany needs linseed from the Baltic countries. The Lübeck's merchants monopolise this trade and organise the trafic to be the most profitable. In the French harbours, the factors of the merchants from Lübeck do the same. The peasants are obliged to follow the rules and pay a lot of money to get the products they need.
